Sean Marcil, Therapist

Sean T Marcil, LADC, LPCA, SAP

A teacher once said to me as I was beginning my journey in school, “The relationship with the client must come first. The relationship creates the space in which the client will grow. All the tools and skills you will learn in school are secondary. Maintenance of the therapeutic relationship is the number one priority”. This statement has become my guiding light as a clinician. When I work with a client, it is imperative that they feel heard, validated, and understood, before the work can begin. Finding the right therapist may take a few tries but keep going! Because finding the right one can make all the difference.

I have been working with clients and families for over 10 years treating trauma, addictive disorders, codependency and more. In that time, I came to believe that many of those who would never call themselves “addicted”, still have repeating patterns in their lives that continue to create distress. They want to change their patterns, but they don’t know how.

If you find yourself tired of repeating the same patterns in your life and you are ready to challenge the thoughts and beliefs that keep bringing you to the same exhausting places, please reach out. While therapy can be complex, the goal with all my clients remains the same. The aim is to help you find your authentic self on the path to recovery and peace.

Lisa, Clinician at Connecticut Counseling & Wellness

Lisa Lyon, LPC

My name is Lisa and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse fields. My theoretical orientation is person-centered where I believe all humans have strengths and have the capacity to grow, change, and
heal. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing modalities in my counseling practice as well as meeting the client where they are at
in their healing journey. I believe that therapy is a collaborative practice with the client in the driver seat- you are the expert in your own life!

I have a high esteem for the practice of psychotherapy and am looking forward to walking alongside you in your journey of recovery and healing.
